From full teardown to final balance — every turbo gets the same thorough inspection, precision rebuild, and quality control process.

Inspection & Diagnosis

Full teardown and inspection of every component. We photograph the damage, document findings, and provide a detailed quote before any work begins. $50 flat inspection fee.

Full Turbo Rebuild

Complete rebuild with OEM-spec parts. New seals, bearings, thrust components, and hardware. CHRA overhaul or replacement available. VGT vane and unison ring service included on variable geometry models.

High-Speed VSR Balancing

Every rebuilt turbo is VSR balanced at operating RPM and put through QC before shipping. Balancing is the single most important step — unbalanced wheels destroy bearings and fail catastrophically. We verify endplay, radial clearance, and boost response to OEM tolerances.

Core Exchange

Send us your core, we rebuild it. Or purchase a remanufactured unit outright with core deposit. Either way, you get a fully rebuilt turbo with our standard warranty.

VGT Mechanical Service

Variable geometry turbo giving you trouble? We service VGT vanes, unison rings, and nozzle ring assemblies. Full cleaning, inspection, and rebuild of the variable geometry mechanism.

About Turbo Doctor

Turbo Doctor is a turbocharger rebuild shop serving fleets, independent shops, and owner-operators across the United States. We specialize in heavy-duty diesel turbochargers — Holset, BorgWarner, Garrett, Detroit, IHI, Cummins — and we built our operation around one idea: get the turbo rebuilt right, get it back fast, and make the paperwork painless.

Every turbo we rebuild goes through a full inspection, precision rebuild with OEM-spec components, high-speed VSR balancing, and quality control testing. We don't cut corners and we don't ship anything we wouldn't put on our own trucks.

For fleet customers, we offer contract pricing, stocked inventory of the models you run, Net 30 terms, and a digital work order system that eliminates the back-and-forth. Ship us your core, approve the work order online, and we handle the rest — including sending the invoice directly to your AP department when the rebuilt turbo ships.

FAQ

How long does a rebuild take?
We target 24-hour turnaround from the time we receive your core. Actual time depends on the severity of core damage and whether we have the rebuild kit in stock — for fleet accounts we stock the models you run, so emergencies get turned around fastest. Complex VGT rebuilds or units needing CHRA replacement may take an extra day. We'll let you know during the inspection phase.
What's included in the rebuild?
Every rebuild includes new seals, bearings, thrust components, and all necessary hardware. The turbo is VSR balanced at operating RPM and QC tested. If the CHRA (center housing rotating assembly) needs replacement, that's quoted as a separate line item so you can make the call.
What warranty do you offer?
All rebuilds come with a 12-month warranty covering defects in parts and workmanship. Warranty claims are handled directly — ship the unit back, we diagnose and resolve it.
How do I ship my turbo to you?
Box it up securely (wrap the inlet and outlet to keep debris out) and ship via UPS or FedEx to our shop. We can provide a prepaid shipping label for fleet accounts. Contact us for the shipping address.
Do you offer Net 30 terms?
Yes. Net 30 is available for fleet accounts and shops with approved credit. We'll send you a credit application to get started. Once approved, invoices go directly to your AP when the rebuilt turbo ships.
Can I buy just the parts or a rebuild kit?
Yes. We sell rebuild kits, CHRAs, cartridges, and individual components. Check our listings on eBay and Amazon, or contact us directly for bulk/wholesale pricing.
What if the turbo can't be rebuilt?
If inspection reveals the turbo is beyond economical repair (cracked housing, severe shaft damage, etc.), we'll let you know during the inspection phase before any rebuild work begins. You only pay the $50 inspection fee. We can also source a replacement unit for you.
